My 8-Day Beijing-Xi'an-Shanghai Journey - First Timer Experience

Just completed the classic Golden Triangle route and I have to say, China exceeded every expectation I had! Here's my detailed breakdown:

Beijing was absolutely mind-blowing. The Great Wall at Mutianyu was a surreal experience - I went on a clear morning and had sections almost to myself. The Forbidden City is vast; allocate at least 3-4 hours. Don't miss Jingshan Park for that iconic view of the entire complex.

Xi'an hit different with its ancient energy. The Terracotta Warriors were worth every minute of the crowds. I spent an evening exploring the Muslim Quarter - the food scene there is incredible! Try the biang biang noodles.

Shanghai was the perfect finale - modern yet rooted in tradition. The Bund at night is magical. I loved wandering through the French Concession and discovering hidden cafes.

Tip: Book a private guide for Beijing and Xi'an, but Shanghai is very easy to navigate solo using the Metro.

Great tips! Did you visit Mutianyu or Juyongguan? I heard Mutianyu is better restored but also more crowded.

I went to Mutianyu - the restored sections are great for photos and the drop slides are fun. But agree, go early morning to beat tour groups.
